Ally Sheedy wrote this poems for herself without expecting an audience for them thus they are brutally honest. I found the first few poems to be of a very simple nature but then began to see her struggles in a more profound way as her poems became more heartfealt and talked about more complex issues in her life. I found two poems, "There's been a Slight Mistake - Rehab 3 A.M." and "Local Anesthisia" to be two of the hardest to read in her book because of the raw emotion with which she expressed herself in them. Just like any collection of poems there are a few that will touch the heart and others that will be quickly forgotten.
